World War or some other disaster

I’m responsible for World War 2,

Titanic too,

Iceberg right ahead,

Was I the one two blind two see it,

Of course not you weren’t born till 89,

Why can I taste the salt of the sea?

Here the bombs blazing,

Was I a coward who run and hid?

Will I go down in history as a champion?

Or another name on a gravestone.

Budding Rose

My love pours,

Like rain falling from the sky,

Your eyes like lightning,

Striking, piercing the eyes,

Our world blooming,

Like bud too rose,

Build bridges,

Before the earth crumbles.

Inspiration Desperation

Uninspired,

The mind blank,

So I went for a walk on a winter afternoon,

Soon, the snow deep to my waist,

Snowflakes hitting me in the face,

The blizzard restricted my view,

The blood felt like it couldn’t flow,

I lost the feeling in my fingers and toes,

Will I get home to write again?

Why couldn’t I find the words?

Open my mind to the world around,

A silly way to get inspired,

But the truth is I’ve lost all feeling,

And may never be able to write,

Again.

Two lovers

Can you have two lovers,

Be true to both,

Or does this make you heart,

As black as the earth itself,

Break a promise,

Break a heart,

Have another love,

To save someone else,

Or worse yourself.

Travelling

Sometimes it’s hard for me to be who I am,

But deep down,

I know you know where I am,

Where I’m going,

What I’m doing,

What I’m feeling,

That place I’ve been,

That place to never go again.

Reflection in the mirror

Reflection in the mirror,

Reflection of what you have done,

Reflection of what you should have done,

Has the mirror cracked or broken?

Maybe you’re the only one,

The curse upon you,

Maybe it will last a life time,

Maybe a minute or two,

Can you put the reflection back together?

Piece by piece,

Change what you see,

Change who you are,

Change the reflection in the mirror,

Piece it back together.

Top 3 of 3

Over the last three months I have achieved much more than I had imagined, thank you to everyone who has viewed my blog over the last three months and has helped me reach over 2,000 views.

As Thursday will be the three month anniversary of my blog; I have decided to celebrate this by posting my top three poems of the last three months.

  1. Beauty on the screen
  2. Call yourself a friend
  3. Perfectly beautiful

Beauty on the screen

Is that beauty on the screen?

Reality,

Or a defamation,

A view of what they want you to see,

A disguise,

A fiction,

Of something,

Dangerous ugly and humane,

Enforced beliefs,

Sucked into a dream,

A beauty to behold,

Nothing but a fake.

Call yourself a friend

Why don’t you ask what I’m feeling?

Why I’m so glum,

Maybe I need help,

Maybe some fun,

Why don’t you ask what I’m feeling?

Maybe you could help,

Maybe you need some fun,

Why don’t you ask what I’m feeling?

What’s eating me,

What’s scaring you?

Why don’t you ask what I’m feeling?

Perfectly beautiful

The beauty that beholds me,

So real and true,

Could anybody be as beautiful as you?

Don’t ever doubt it,

Hear me, please listen!

Don’t doubt yourself,

Please,

Believe me it’s true,

You don’t believe it,

You don’t see it,

It’s what makes you perfect.

My personal favourite so far is ‘Perfectly beautiful’, everyone is beautiful and it’s the acceptance of how YOU perceive yourself that counts and not anyone else.
