In the mind’s eye

Strength is in my mind,

Weakness is in my mind,

Hope my fear does not leave me blind,

Ultimately you leave me behind,

As fear is the only feeling,

I need my fall breaking.

Sea of Red

My little mind does wander,
Through the fields and yonder,

Through poppies,
sea of red,

The path of bloodshed,
All the pain suffered,

The feelings muffled,
Bitter silence,

Of the unknown,
Torture and malice.

Sixth Sense

It’s funny,

It can be so lonely,

You can see,

What no one else can,

Not like ghost’s if vampires,

But a sense all the same,

Maybe a sixth sense,

Or part of you,

That just won’t lie down,

Be tamed.

Inspiration Desperation

Uninspired,

The mind blank,

So I went for a walk on a winter afternoon,

Soon, the snow deep to my waist,

Snowflakes hitting me in the face,

The blizzard restricted my view,

The blood felt like it couldn’t flow,

I lost the feeling in my fingers and toes,

Will I get home to write again?

Why couldn’t I find the words?

Open my mind to the world around,

A silly way to get inspired,

But the truth is I’ve lost all feeling,

And may never be able to write,

Again.

Burning on the fire

Everyday can be a fight for survival for many people whether it’s your skin colour, hair colour height, disability or ability, possibly something else.

I have wrote a poem in honour of all of us who have to fight everyday just to be ourselves in what can be a cruel world.

Fighting to get out of this box,

The old book,

Gathering dust,

It does not have the same cover,

As other,

Victim of our ways,

Victim of your ignorance,

Book ripped to shreds,

As you can translate,

Burnt on a fire,

Not to keep you warm,

Or to lighten your world,

But because you don’t understand.

If anyone would like to share their struggles or their ‘fight’ for survival please let me know on the comments or via twitter and I’ll get back to you. The reason I ask as I would like to make a poem possibly a video or article to represent people with your permission.

Many thanks

Kirsty

Danger of the mind

Destructive force to mankind,

Ones cruel, untamed mind.
